All Jiu Jitsu classes are taught or supervised by third-degree black belt Daniel “Montanha” de Lima in a very friendly and encouraging atmosphere. Daniel is the head instructor at Gracie Barra Miami. Raised in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Montanha is an accomplished competitor personally prepared by Master Carlos Gracie, Jr. With over 23 years of Jiu-Jitsu experience, Montanha boasts an exceptional record as both fighter and teacher, able to teach a complete novice or an experienced competitor and help them achieve their personal goals. In addition to teaching practitioners of all kinds, Montanha also frequently gives seminars on Brazilian Jiu Jitsu to U.S. law enforcement and military personnel.
