Welcome to Gracie Barra Spring Lake, and thank you for joining us in our training. Train hard is the key word that I hope you as a student or parent get from this welcome note. There are many reasons to train in a martial art. In addition to the confidence and character that develops in studying these ancient disciplines, one of the main benefits is to enhance our ability to protect ourselves in today’s world. Through Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, we enjoy the exploration of movements, attitudes, principles, and training procedures that can protect others and ourselves from harm in times of danger. Our training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu develops courage, power speed, and timing. We also learn that we can overcome many obstacles that may stand before us, and we gain confidence in our ability to act in order to protect life.
